First visit to Sant Joan and a new home

Me sending a nice 6B A couple of weeks ago we finally dropped by Sant Joan de Vilatorrada, the big bouldering area outside of Manresa and about an hours drive from Barcelona. I've visited a fair amount of bouldering areas around the world and my first impression was more than positive. There are some huge [...]

All work, no play

Climbing in Malanyeu, 1 hour north of Barcelona. Amazing rock quality! Click to see the photo in a bigger size. These last weeks have been pretty crazy. I'm in the middle of getting my company and my travel agency (which Climb in Spain is a part of) up and going. So instead of climbing I've [...]

Updated map functionality

I'm currently in my native Sweden enjoying the amazing 19 hours of darkness that December offers. One step forward, one step back

My friend Jules sent me a message regarding one of the houses that I visited last week in the Siurana-area. We stayed in the Pla de Castell house near Cornudella last April, and it was awful! They had treated the rock walls inside the house with some sort of chemical, and the place stank. You [...]

More apartments and houses added!

Last week I spent a couple of days climbing and looking for apartments, hotels and houses in the Siurana & Costa Daurada-area to collaborate with. It was a very nice trip and I have now added four new lodging-options for the eager climber. It is very interesting meeting the owners to these nice places places [...]

Welcome to Climb in Spain!

Spain in general and Catalonia in particular has an immense amount of rock. There is limestone, granite, sandstone, conglomerate and volcanic rock. There is world class bouldering, 1000 meter routes, deep water soloing and the best sport climbing in the world. There are 300 days a year of sunshine. In short: there is a reason why the best climbers in the world move to Spain or spend a good part of every winter here.
